Né à Shanghai (Chine) en 1954, WILFRED apprend la peinture chinoise dès sa septième année, avec son père. Il fréquente l’école d’art de Shanghai pendant cinq ans (1971-1976) et il a visité les cinq grandes montagnes en Chine afin d’améliorer son art de peindre la nature. Il s’installe à Hawaii en 1977 où il s’inspire de la peinture abstraite moderne. En 1981, il vient en Europe et y séjourne deux ans. Il obtient des prix de concours d’art en Europe et à Hong Kong. Sa peinture est aux confluents de la culture occidentale et orientale. Actuellement il travaille tour à tour aux Etats-Unis, en Chine et en Europe.

He was born in Shanghai (China) in 1954. He started studying chinese painting with his father when he was 7. He attended the Ecole d'Art de Shanghai for 5 years and visited the 5 biggest mountains in China in order to improve his approach to painting nature. He settled in Hawai where he took inspiration for modern abstract paintings. In 1981, he moved to Europe where he stayed for 2 years. He has been awarded prizes of Concours d'Art in Europe and Hong-Kong. His painting is between eastern and western culture. For the time being, he is working in the States, in China and in Europe.
